Country Sports

Exmoor is an ideal location to enjoy all the country pursuits of walking, riding, cycling, hunting and fishing as well as relaxing. The Woolhanger Estate can offer you access to all of these either on the estate itself or working within our closely knit community to provide local options.

Riding

If you are renting a cottage on Woolhanger you can have access to stabling.

If you wish to ride locally we have several riding stables we can put you in touch with or alternatively see Riding on Exmoor.

Hunting

For those wishing to hunt please contact Devon & Somerset Stag Hounds.

Shooting

Woolhanger has been home to a long established shoot situated on the Challacombe side of the farm. The shoot is currently being re-developed. Access to other local shoots can potentially be arranged with plenty of prior notice.

Fishing

As part of the Woolhanger Estate but located at Umberleigh, South Molton we have 1 ½ miles of double bank on the Taw where you can fish for Salmon, Sea Trout, and Brown Trout.
